High Sierra Screwdriver Antenna, new/unused, estate sale

This screwdriver antenna belonged to a member of the Maple Ridge Amateur Radio Club who became a silent key.  His wife donated it to the club and it’s being sold to the highest bidder.  The brand is High Sierra Antennas however the exact model number is not fully known.  The stickers and stampings on the antenna do not reveal the model number and none of us are familiar with this model.  The only other markings beyond the stickers are “182” and “1103” stamped into the brass base which may be serial numbers.   As best we can see from photos online, this is identical in every way to the High Sierra HS-1500 so we’re pretty confident that is probably the model.  According to comments on eham.net for the HS-1500 antenna, it operates on 80m through 6m.  This antenna is in pristine condition and it doesn’t appear as though it was ever outside.  Several of us examined it and agree that it is unused in as-new condition.  We tested the motors and they work as expected to raise and lower the coil for tuning.  The sale includes the original wiring, cigarette lighter and SAE power adapters, switches, and lights.  There appear to be two sets of wiring/switches.  Unfortunately, the steel whip for the antenna wasn’t found by the wife, so you will have to source your own steel whip.  The top of the antenna where the whip mounts is a solid stainless rod about four inches long with a small perpendicular stud midway along the rod.  This gives the appearance that the original whip probably pushed down and locked with a quarter turn onto this rod.  The manufacturer is no longer in business so sourcing the whip may be challenging or you may need to modify another whip.  We discussed either welding or threading the rod as attachment methods.  But the buyer should be aware that unless you can source the original whip, this may be a small projecct to attach a method of mounting the whip.  The sale includes the powder coated steel tubing to mount the antenna to your trailer hitch.
