“I’ve had a number of requests to shoot a video series about the Yaesu FT-710 AESS, similar to my FTdx10 series. Ham Radio Outlet loaned me a Yaesu FT-710 AESS for just that purpose.
In this video I will unbox the transceiver, set it up, power it up, and make some initial settings and observations. You might pick up an operating tip or two as well. You know me, I’m all about operating technique. I did find something disappointing about the FT-710 AESS.
I talk about it in the video. In future videos, we will go into more detail, especially critiquing the new NXR Semiconductors DSP system. Hint: There seems to be improvement in one aspect of the DSP but a step backwards for another aspect of the DSP.“
